Garner Road Community Center: Helping Develop Young Minds

Tranelle Maner

In keeping with the mission of aiding and facilitating access to technology, HUBZone Technology Initiative recently made a donation to the Garner Road Community Center for the second year in a row.

Garner Road Community Center Director Mo Johnson asked for three Chromebooks to help students academically, as they continue their educational endeavors through virtual learning, which has been implemented throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Garner Road began serving the Raleigh, North Carolina area about 65 years ago with the objective to provide opportunities and programs for youth, families, and adults to develop a strong character base and practice Christian standards by promoting spiritual, physical, and mental uplifting.

Similar to HTI, Garner Road Community Center is dedicated to making sure that during these difficult times, as well as afterward, all students regardless of background or economic status, have equal access to technology to further their education and later professional pursuits.

If you would like to help this mission, please consider donating to HTI. We accept both monetary donations, as well as the donations of unused working laptops. For more information on the criteria for the laptops that are accepted in donations, please visit the donation section of our website.
